The annual Gorham Snowflake is the number one selling sterling
silver Christmas ornament since the first one debuted in 1970.
Each one is made with dozens of tiny facets to get the "twinkle
effect" by reflecting the Christmas tree lights.
Getting the snowflake to have a different design but still
retain the qualities of the style is a challenge for the designer
every year. 2009 was the first year that the Gorham Snowflake
was made with the design repeating on the reverse side, and that
trend continues this year. The ornament is now manufactured under
license by Lifetime Brands, owners of the Wallace and Towle brand
names. |
