What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

I discovered Liberty by sheer luck in a comment thread on Amazon. Satisfied by my research on the integrity of their manufacturing process, I purchased the Champlin set and I could not be more favorably impressed. This flatware is uncommonly beautiful, functional, substantial and unsurpassed in quality. It looks more like Sterling silver than my (sterling silver). I have now recommended this company to anyone who will listen…
I was getting ready to order replacements to my Oneida set that I received around my wedding in 1988 because of missing pieces when my husband reminded me of the Made in America segment he saw. I decided to order a whole new set, Champlin, and just love it. We use it every day, and it looks just great. Even after multiple dishwasher washings, it’s still as shiny as ever. So pleased!
