What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

I was so happy to purchase the Champlin pattern because it was made in the USA and was a very reasonable price. They are a nice substantial weight and perfectly balanced, just beautiful. I’ve had them a year, use them every day and love them. BUY American!!
So polished you can see your reflection in the spoons. I do recommend hand washing to prevent the forks from scratching the finish on the serving spoons. I am so happy to defy Congress and Wall Street and try to keep some manufacturing in my country of birth.
