What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

The unique, more hygienic way in which the knives sit perpendicular to whatever surface upon which they are laid was the selling point for me, but I've also found them to be very comfortable and secure when using a classic European dinner knife grip, which places the flat end securely against your palm and your forefinger directly over the blade. All the pieces are nicely polished and wash well. I have seen no rust issues whatsoever in a month of use; I imagine those who do could easily take care of them with a little Barkeeper's Friend.
The set maintains its shine and I love the simplicity of the design. The knives can be placed face down (instead of sideways) and that gives them lift- makes it fun and unique
I have lived all my life without having fabulous, matching silverware. Thank goodness for Zwilling and their awesome luxurious silverware. I love how the knife sits on its edge, so cool. If I ever need to gift someone something super special, I'll come here.
