What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

My most recent purchase was the three-piece serving set. I love it. I felt when I ordered my flatware that there should be other serving pieces available. I kept one of the larger spoons from my old flatware, but I don’t need it now! And really don’t care if I ever see that pattern again. My original purchase looks as good as the day I bought it, except for one knife that I thought I should take a little green 3-M scrubby to–don’t know what (or if) I was thinking. Love my flatware and love the fact that it was made in the USA!
Well, almost perfect. Definitely terrific. I purchased the 3 piece hostess set. Much better (finer craftsmanship, heavier weight, greater beauty) than any other flatware I’ve seen in the last few decades. And it matches my old Oneida (remember them when they were made in the U.S.?) set almost perfectly. I’m sold.
