What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

A lot of reviewers are complaining about the quality, but at the price it's set at I think what you get is more than fair. Yes, the ballerina is plastic, and perhaps the interior is not as "luxe" as it could be (plastic coated with felt) but it's meant to be a music box for little girls and I think any little girl would be very pleased with it. Personally, it's perfect for my needs. The music plays well and the exterior is pleasing to the eye. It will probably need intermittent cleaning as the metal will tarnish. If you are looking for something made of silver with silky velvet lining then you should be prepared to pay in that price range.
My granddaughter was delighted. I found a pink embellishment toile bow from the sewing section of a store and glued two small round clear crystal pieces to that: I attached this little backend tutu piece with pink thread around the ballerina's waist. It dressed up the ballerina, and made quite a difference to the overall look/quality. I also changed the ballerina's hair color to brown using a permanent thin-tipped brown sharpie. (for my brunette granddaughter) There was a glue-smell when I first received the jewelry box, so I put a cotton ball sprayed with fragrance inside a large plastic bottle cap, and let that sit in the box until the glue smell had left. 'Little adjustments made a big difference.
We just received this jewelry box in the mail today. It is gorgeous and perfect for our young daughter. The ballerina with playing music is magical, and the personalization on it makes it a truly wonderful gift. It is an amazing gift that will become a keepsake to show our love to our daughter. We are going to be ordering 2 more as gifts for our god daughters too. It is the most beautiful jewelry box we have ever seen.
My grandma bought this for me around before or a little after I was born and it has been threw a lot and is holding condition really well it still plays music just I need to fix the screws on the lid and we are good but it is still beautiful and definitely hold memories
Please never stop manufacturing them. It's the only gift I buy for new born girls I've literally have bought 2 dozens and it last till they are young ladies very special and I get it engraved
I gave a music box as a gift to each of my flower girls - ages 3 & 6 - and they loved them! One fell asleep that night hugging it like a teddy bear and the other made a point to show the twirling ballerina to every member of our bridal party. The music boxes were well made/of good quality and the melody is beautiful.
I bought 2 of these for my granddaughters' birthdays and they are much prettier than I expected. They have only had them a month and no one had complained about how they close and they use them all the time. I hope we don't have the same problem others are having because they are heirloom quality.
I have 3 nieces. I bought for one and now the others want one as well. Super nice for young girls. Great quality that I think will sustain for a lifetime.
