What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

I like the chest, but one of the pictures on the website shows it with handles which it NEEDS and doesn't have. When the chest is full of silver, it is too heavy to lift without handles! We took the handles off my old chest and attached them to the new chest. Of course, most people would not have an old chest to use. These chests always came with handles. Please add handles again!!
The quality of the item is as shown and described. If I didn't already know, I would not imagine it's mahogany veneer over medium density fiber (MDF) board. This fact is not hidden in the description. The only thing that might indicate that fact is the heft of the box. Great value.
It fit our flatware beautifully and is a very handsome chest. The pull out drawer will fit a couple of serving pieces. It's heavy and well made.
It was on backorder for 30 days, but definitely worth the wait. Great quality and perfect to maintain the life of silverware.
